Katia got her own room!

Mom and Dad started taking us to family counseling. So far, it's only helped a little bit. Mei is still pretty unhappy. But, the counselor decided that it would be best if Katia had her own room because it might help with the tension in our house. So, Mom and Dad converted their office into a bedroom for Katia. Their office is going to be in the basement now. Here is her new room!

  2. I'm glad it's helping a little. That's usually how it goes: it takes time. Most people don't make dramatic progress in the first few sessions. I still think it'll be good for your family if you stick with it.

Katia's room looks great. Very cozy. Hopefully it'll help.

    Love,

  6. Hi Keesha!

Katia's room looks really cute. I'd love to meet you guys sometime.

I love hearing about Katia, because I was adopted from Russia too! Was Mei adopted when she was too little to remember? Tell Katia if she ever wants to talk to another Russian adoptee, she should write to me.

I go to a special group for kids adopted from Russian-speaking countries. It's fun! If you guys ever come to NYC, Katia should visit my group.

  7. Hi, Inky!

I really hope we get to meet you sometime too!

Katia wants to know where in Russia you were adopted from. She also wants to know when you stop getting carsick. :P I bet she would love to visit your group!

  8. I was adopted from Khabarovsk, which is in the Russian Far East- pretty near to the Pacific Ocean and just across the Amur River from China.

It took me years to stop getting carsick. Even now, I get ill if I'm in a car too long. I take a medication to help me for long car rides. Luckily, I'm okay in the subway and airplanes- otherwise I'd really be in trouble!
